One of the soldiers murdered in the ramming attack which occurred today in Jerusalem has been identified as 20-year-old Erez Orbach of Alon Shvut in the Etzion Bloc , a cadet at the officer’s training school.
The attack also claimed the lives of a female officer serving in the training school as well as two female cadets. 15 more people suffered various degrees of injury and were evacuated to hospitals in Jerusalem.
Five wounded soldiers were evacuated to Hadassah hospital in Ein Karem. One is in serious condition and is still unconscious, three are in moderate condition and fully conscious and one is in light condition. Two more soldiers were evacuated to the Hadassah hospital on Mt. Scopus in light condition and were released Sunday evening.
In the Shaarei Tzedek hospital there are five wounded soldiers being treated at Shaarei Tzedek medical center. One is in extremely grave condition and is under sedation and respiration in the intensive care unit while four others are lightly injured, and two of them were released. Ten more people suffering from trauma were treated and released.
The terrorist, a resident of East Jerusalem village of Jabal Mukhaber in his late 20s drove a truck with Israeli license plates into the group of cadets who were near the Haas promenade in Armon Hanatziv.
Some of the victims were trapped under the heavy truck and firemen had to work with a crane to release three of the victims.
Terrorists from the same village were involved in numerous attacks against Israelis in the past few years including the Armon Hanatziv bus attack in October 2015 and the attack on Malhei Yisrael Street in November 2015 by a cousin of the perpetrators of the 2014 Har Nof massacre, also from the same village, which he had praised in Yediot Aharonot.
Hamas welcomed the attack and in the Gaza strip candies were distributed in the streets
